The Social Worker provides psychosocial assessment and psychiatric diagnosis and treatment for emotionally disturbed adult patients 18 years and older in the Adult Ambulatory Clinic. The Social Worker functions as primary therapist and is responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of the treatment plan for patients assigned to his/her caseload. The Social Worker participates on an interdisciplinary treatment team and develops liaisons with health and social agencies in the community as well as with other health professionals within the hospital to support evaluation and treatment of the patient. The Social Worker also provides treatment, and crisis intervention as appropriate.
The Social Worker that occupies this position must have a MSW from an accredited social work graduate program. They must meet the qualifications to be a licensed Social Worker within one year of employment.
