Schedule

8 AM-5 PM



Specific Responsibilities:

Provides preoperative counseling regarding procedure efficacy, risks and complications following surgeon's informed consent discussion; reviews written and verbal preoperative instructions in preparation for surgery; delivers written and verbal postoperative instructions.

Schedules Operating Room cases via IDX and BioOps a well as communicating directly with the OR scheduling staff. Also confirms the order of daily OR cases for assigned faculty based upon patient demographics, travel needs, and other relevant factors.

Monitors OR schedules to maximize new patient availability; adjusts schedules as needed; confirms new patient and surgery appointments; follow-ups with no-show appointments.

Coordinates preoperative physical examinations and testing. Orders donor tissues and implant devices needed for upcoming surgeries. Also facilitates overnight lodging arrangements for patients traveling extended distances for surgical procedures.

Update patient registrations, verifies demographic and insurance information and authorization for both surgical booking and post-op outpatient visit cases. Maintains pertinent patient charts, files referral letters, and chart notes.

Qualifications:

Requires two years of post high school education in secretarial or word processing studies, or the equivalent and at least 2 years of secretarial, word processing and practical office experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced secretarial or word processing skills required.
