Duties of this position will include:
Independently performing routine diagnostics and maintenance of office, lab, and teaching lab technologies, and troubleshooting non-routine problems as they arise. Providing accurate and courteous answers with timely callback or site visits and completion of service requests. Setup and configuring new hardware and software, as well as performing data migration and training on new technologies and equipment. Creating knowledge base articles on common issues and refer end-users to documented solutions to enable self-support and faster problem resolution. Taking proactive measures to ensure zero callbacks or repeat calls while addressing other obvious problems. Evaluating problem tempering macro view of end-user role/department role for preemptive recommendations or technical solutions.
Technical Solution Development
Utilizing troubleshooting skills and methodically stepping through processes to assess and analyze where problem(s) is occurring. Using same technique to create technical documents and instructions.
Serving as a productive team member or technical lead on various IT related projects. Assisting with timely completion of project tasks and ensuring completion of direct assignments. Advising project team of end-user impact while working to reach project goal. Interacting with both ITS and outside departments to test, troubleshoot, and resolve project issues.
Serving as a technical resource to clients by analyzing and assessing client needs and advising on the purchase, functionality, and interoperability of the microcomputer systems, software, and peripherals to create an effective and appropriate solution. Staying current with technology as a whole, but focusing on technology in education and recommending alternative solutions or methodologies where appropriate.
-Experience with call tracking systems, preferably Wendia.
-Experience working with multiple platforms.
-Experience with wide range of software such as Microsoft and Apple operating systems.
-Four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field with two years experience
working in IT
