The College president is the chief executive officer and is accountable to a Board whose members are gubernatorial appointees.
Founded in 1957, SCF is the area's first and largest public college. The service district of Manatee and Sarasota counties, located on Southwest Florida's Gulf Coast, includes 100-acre campuses in Bradenton and Venice, a 10-acre center in Lakewood Ranch, and a growing eCampus.
Credit student enrollment for Fall 2012 is 11,000. The total net assets of the College are $103.5 million, and an active Foundation has an endowment of $47 million.
Established as a junior/community college, SCF graduates consistently rank among the top transfer students in maintaining high grade point averages at the university level.
