Position Summary

Provides comprehensive clinical care to clients receiving services in the employee wellness program. This includes intake, screening, individualized teaching plans, coaching, referral and follow up. Responsibilities include collaborating effectively with multiple levels and types of providers and working cooperatively to meet wellness goals of the client. The position entails coordination of off-site clinics and group sessions. The nurse may oversee other clinical staff and clerks to assure smooth administration of clinical services. Primary responsibility will be in employee wellness services but the nurse will also need to work in Passport Health as needed.

Typical Duties

Employee Wellness: Conduct biometric screenings. Integrates information from various sources and formulates a wellness plan for the client. Makes referrals based on client needs.  Uses Technology effectively to meet client needs. Communicates with other service providers. Represents the University Of Rochester School Of Nursing at health events. Provide onsite nurse wellness coaching. Interpret and review aggregate group reports and provide recommendations based on findings.

Passport Health: Review patient health history, immunization and vaccination records and travel itinerary to provide detailed, personalized recommendations regarding travel. Review patient-specific written and standing orders, including recommendations for administration of vaccines and immunizations. Review geography, activity and seasonally specific health risks indicated by traveler’s itinerary. Advise patient in appropriate actions to take to help mitigate health risks. Assist in clinical trials. Review privacy laws, vaccine safety and efficacy information, travel advisories and other job-critical information regularly. 

Skills Required

Effective and courteous communication with patients, staff and liaisons from outside organizations, ability to efficiently coordinate with the program directors, flexibility, ability to multi-task and problem-solve independently in a fast-paced environment. Basic Computer skills are also essential.

Educational Requirements

Registered Nurse with Current CPR certification. Baccalaureate degree preferred.
