Job Description
The College of Engineering is seeking to hire an IT Specialist IV to join their team. The Primary purpose of the IT Secialist IV position is to provide systems management and desktop support for the College of Engineering. This consists of managing server systems, creating/customizing operating systems and images, installation and troubleshooting software problems. This position will also assist faculty in obtaining computing resources for research purposes. Additional responsibilities of the IT Specialist IV include but are not limited to:
* Analysis of systems hardware and software.
* Leverages resources and coordinates with other groups.
* Ensures departmental lab computers comply with licensing agreements.
* Creates and reaps user accounts/access in a manner according to UNT/CITC information secruity policies and guidlines.
* Keeps system documentation updated.
* Provides reference and training documentation internally.
* Provides desktop support.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in related field and three years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department
* Knowledge of principles of computing and communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environment
* Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware
* Ability to assimilate, retain and utilize technical and applications-oriented information
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and three years of related computing work experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
