General Description:
The Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for receiving,evaluating,and verifying student data to award federal,state,and institutional financial assistance. Student eligibility is determined in compliance with local, state,and federal regulations, policies and procedures. A person in this position is responsible for advising students on matters of financial assistance programs and for using professional judgment when considering individual requests for special considerations, satisfactory academic progress appeals,dependency overrides, and debt management issues. The Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for quality direct service to student financial assistance applicants and recipients at the Financial Aid Office front counter. Through participation in outreach and intervention efforts, the Financial Aid Advisor informs students of financial assistance programs and services. Through college wide services focused on student success,the Financial Aid Advisor contributes to overall college goals.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Training in student services, communications, or public relations
Master’s Degree in a student services program
Bilingual skills
Financial Aid Office Experience
