Job Description Summary:
Minimum Qualifications:
A Master’s degree and 5 years in the field or related area, to include 2 to 5 years of research and/or college level teaching in a field basic to the work to be performed.
Desired Qualifications:
Data base programming experience.
Prior experience in multi-center protocol development and management.

Job Duties

Designs, develops and implements:
oWeb applications/software for study communications and study management (e.g. reports, applications, tools, etc.).
oWeb-based reports, tools and applications for study management.
Maintains an understanding of clinical studies and their IT needs as specified in study protocol.

Manages the monitoring and maintenance of study websites for integrity and performance as well as the development of systems specifications, and ensures staff maintenance of the documentation for study reports and applications.

Oversees unit testing and other testing of software developed by Systems Programming Team.

Maintains professional knowledge of and proficiency in object-oriented programming, in Java Programming Language, in relational database structure and SQL programming, in web-oriented software development, struts and other frameworks for software development, as well as in Java and Javascript language and software development tools, languages and systems as needed.

Plans, leads and participates in meetings to review processes, data management requirements and to discuss status of projects. Participates in study group meetings that may require travel to other locations in the Washington, DC metropolitan area or other cities in the US.
Collaborates and works with other members of the systems development team and attends meetings with Web Systems Developers and Study members as needed.

Oversees the training of end users as necessary, and monitors the creation/update of web systems’ guide to assist end users.
