Job Description Summary:
Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5-6 years of relevant professional experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
Supervise approximately nine (9) Employer Relations staff and provide leadership and vision in goal setting and strategic planning.
Supervise the Manager, Employer Programs to ensure the implementation and execution of various events. These events include employer events on-campus and the coordination of national, regional, and GWSB career fairs.
Supervise the Manager, Employer Relations to ensure the expansion and execution on the On-Campus Recruiting Program.
Supervise a multi-state business development team (Grade 17’s). Provides supervision and leadership of the Employer Development Consultants and oversees the management of the Contact Relationship database. Set aggressive goals and hold EDC staff accountable for activity and performance.
Supervise the Systems Support Specialist who manages the Gwork database, Salesforce database, resume books, and other IT related needs of the office.
Responsible for the collection, dissemination, and accuracy of GWSB Employment Statistics and the adherence to the MBACSC Standards for data collection. Provide data and benchmarking information as needed to internal and external constituents. Ensure that employment data is reported to the ranking agencies in a timely manner.
Conduct annual performance evaluations of staff in the Employer Relations division.
Manage the employer relations $600,000+ budget which includes: events, staff salaries, travel & entertainment, marketing/printing, professional development & conferences, equipment & supplies.
Negotiate a budget yearly with the Executive Director, track spending to ensure that employer relations remains fiscally sound, advocate for additional funds when needed, provide a budget summary to the Executive Director.
Strategically manage funds to maximize employer relations efforts and the GWSB brand.
Conduct on-going assessment of the employer relations efforts and provide feedback as to the effectiveness of such efforts.
Work closely with designated personnel to develop and publish data and reports for the Employer Relations division such as executive summaries for monthly and annual reports, investors reports, budget projections, media ranking reports, etc.
Attend administrative staff meetings and participates in professional organizations; participate in campus outreach efforts as appropriate.
Assist in large office projects and other duties that from time to time may be required.
Serve as a member of the FDFCC Leadership Team and participate in the strategic planning, budget allocation, marketing, and goal setting for the office.
Direct Employer Interface:
Establish the employer development strategy for the office. Work with the Employer Development Consultants and Coaching staff to develop an appropriate target list based on student interest and capabilities.
Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key employers that will be utilized for the media rankings (Bweek, US News). Establish an outreach plan that ensures these key accounts are communicated and engaged with on a regular basis.
Strategically cultivate and strengthen employer relations with and among employers, students, alumni, and faculty to maximize student employment.
Strategically identify and build relationships with state, regional, national, and international employers for recruitment of GWSB students and alumni.
Work with employers to develop marketing strategies for enhancement of employer presence on campus; evaluate appropriateness of employer expectations; promote adherence to office procedures and deadlines, interviewing protocols, offer/accept lead times, and ethical/professional conduct.
Participate actively in various local, state, regional, and national organizations to increase employment opportunities for students and alumni.
Collaborate with designated University liaisons and faculty/staff to increase employment opportunities for students.
Facilitate relationships between employers and the University community, including students, faculty, staff, Alumni Association, etc.
Work closely with FDFCC Career Management staff to ensure a seamless relationship of students career management skills and employment opportunities.
Work with the Communications Office to develop employer marketing materials, including Web site content; compose content and coordinate timing of communications to employers.
Work with Office of Alumni Relations to source alumni for employer development purposes.
Work with Office of Development staff in strengthening their relationships with employers for corporate gifts.
