Assistant Director of Graduation
Registrar's Office
The Registrar's Office is seeking an Assistant Director for Graduation. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Graduation. The purpose of the position is to assist the Director in all aspects of the graduation process for approximately 5,500 students annually.
Responsibilities: Evaluate student records according to their academic requirements for graduation; advise and assist undergraduate and graduate students on their progress toward the degree; facilitate the graduation clearance process with academic chairs and graduate program directors; provide support, advice and information to chairs, directors, and academic advisors.
Utilize the existing technology for graduation application and clearance processes; deficiency reports; and diploma creation; analyze data pertaining to graduation rates and deficiencies; run PeopleSoft processes including, but not limited to: queries, batch posting, and deficiency reports.
Assist with two Commencement ceremonies and three graduations; post degrees, certifications, Latin and departmental honors; create diplomas using Diplomas on Demand software; image, retrieve, and archive documents using ImageNow software.
Communicate regularly by email with students and academic departments; oversee the mailing of deficiency letters, diplomas, and other correspondence.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of higher education or related experience; prefer PeopleSoft, graduation, and/or student records experience. Excellent communication and technical skills. Candidates may be requested to provide evidence of required skills. A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
