The Office of Admissions at West Virginia University invites applications for candidates interested in a Professional Technologist position. The Professional Technologist will serve as a recruitment systems and technology expert for the Office of Admissions. In this role, the Professional Technologist will leverage and coordinate multiple university information systems used to recruit prospective and admitted student populations. The Professional Technologist will serve a critical role in helping the Office of Admissions maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of recruitment campaigns by helping to develop the necessary technical framework. In particular, the Professional Technologist will leverage a Customer Relations Management (CRM) system to enhance email, print and phone communication to multiple audiences. In addition, the Professional Technologist will take a lead role in developing and providing analytical and detailed reports for recruitment and admissions purposes and in researching and implementing web-based services and applications used to advance recruitment efforts.

Requirements:
This position requires technical competence with database, systems and application administration, system performance management, and capacity planning processes/tools and their implementation. Technical competence with programming in SQL and/or Crystal Reports is preferred. Proven in-depth knowledge of general office software, including word-processing, database and spreadsheet applications (preferably Microsoft) as well as Adobe Acrobat. Education/experience requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, management information science, or related field, and two to three years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
