Description:

The Department of Medical Imaging at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, an academic health science centre fully affiliated with the University of Toronto is recruiting a dual certified, fellowship-trained radiologist and nuclear medicine physician to provide leadership in the Division of Nuclear Medicine. The successful candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. Anticipated start date is July 1, 2013.

 

St. Michael's Hospital is a busy, 600-bed tertiary care centre and one of three principal teaching hospitals of the University of Toronto Department of Medical Imaging. A long history of teaching excellence is recognized.

 

The Division of Nuclear Medicine supports very busy cardiology and internal  medicine services, with expertise in the metabolic bone disease, rheumatology, endocrinology, respirology, and oncology, There is significant interest in establishing  a PET program over the next few years.

 

The successful candidate will hold dual certification in Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She/he will be a team player with strong commitment to patient care, research and teaching, and will have a strong background in PET imaging, such that she/he can initiative a new  PET program at St. Michael's Hospital. In addition to the majority of the nuclear imaging caseload, the successful candidate must be able to help out in other areas of Medical Imaging as needed.
