The Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for an assigned caseload of undergraduate and graduate student aid applicants, applying professional judgment to complex and unusual student and family situations. The Counselor provides general and specific information related to financial aid programs, explains policies and procedures, and assists students with developing payment plans for attendance at the University. The Financial Aid Counselor coordinates Study Abroad aid eligibility, consortium agreement aid processing, and the R2T4 processing.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):
-An earned bachelor's degree
-Thorough knowledge of federal financial aid regulations.
-Professional experience in an automated financial aid office
-Knowledge of basic accounting principles and record keeping.
-Two to five years' financial aid experience required
-The ability to work effectively with diverse groups
Other Considerations:
-Functional expertise with PeopleSoft Student Administration System.
-Excellent interpersonal and public communications skills.
-Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
-Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
-Ability to grasp complex issues and use good problem-solving techniques.
