RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant/Associate Professor will teach applied voice lessons, vocal
literature, vocal pedagogy, vocal diction, and assist/direct the lyric opera production and complete
other assignments commensurate with departmental needs and the candidate's qualifications.
He/she is expected to participate fully in departmental recruitment, advising/mentoring activities,
promoting the Department within the state, nationally and internationally. Voice faculty must
recruit, retain, teach and graduate a strong studio of singers at the undergraduate level and must be
effective in fulfilling committee service, grantsmanship, and expected to be significantly active in
creative and/or research activities consistent with all faculty appointments.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s degree in vocal performance and/or pedagogy is required; a
completed doctorate is required for tenure-track appointment and rank of Assistant Professor. The
candidate should have significant concert or stage experience in the field of opera/musical theatre
and a demonstrated capacity as a studio voice teacher at the university level. Full-time university
teaching experience is preferred.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
