General Overview
The User Support Specialist II is responsible for implementation, maintenance, and tier-two support of the Institute’s technology resources including desktop and laptop computers, printers, classroom, lab and simulation resources as directed by the Assistant Director of Information Technology.
This person provides technical support to the User Support Specialists and to students, faculty and staff including, but not limited to, installation and repair of the above mentioned resources, equipment setup and operation, general troubleshooting, and software installation.
Reports directly to the Assistant Director of Information Technology.
Major Duties
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Information Technology, assists with the installation, maintenance, repair and tier-two support of hardware, software, and related peripherals. (35%)
Serve as a technical resource to the User Support Specialist I staff in a tier-two role in support of the Institute’s Help Desk requests (35%)
Ensures the maintenance of all computers, printers, learning resources, software, classroom and lab technology and simulation resources (15%)
Installs upgrades to hardware and software. (5%)
Makes recommendations regarding upgrades and replacement of technology-related equipment. (5%)
Attends classes and seminars to enhance knowledge of equipment and operating systems. (5%)
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Information Technology

Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related filed, and 3-5 years of experience
Other Information
Shared work space environment located within active support area, with significant time spent in front of a computer, attending group meetings or one-on-one meetings. Travel through the Institute’s campus to provide support, maintain resources and attend group and individual meetings.
