UCAELI is seeking a Program Assistant to provide administrative support to UCAELI and the International Teaching Assistant Program (ITAP). Both programs provide instruction to international learners of English. Key responsibilities of the position include providing administrative support for UCAELI and ITAP staff, working with databases (Filemaker and Access) to maintain program records and produce schedules and transcripts, working with university databases (PeopleSoft and C2K) to update student records and course information, coordinating language testing and student registrations for ITAP classes, coordinating a conversation partner program, planning and scheduling weekly student events and activities, maintaining an online program calendar, and assisting in preparation of program evaluations and reports. The position will provide general office support functions including word processing, copying, filing, preparation of mailings and student materials. Occasional driving of a 12-passenger van for local student trips may be required.
Minimum requirements are a Bachelor's degree, one to three years experience in a responsible administrative support position, ability to work independently, familiarity with databases, excellent computer skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, good writing and communication skills, and interest in working with an international population. Knowledge of a foreign language and/or experience living in another country is desirable. An "A" endorsement on the driver¿s license is also desirable.
The position is full-time with a salary in the high 30s. The desired starting date is January 14, 2013. Screening will begin on December 1, 2012 and continue until the position is filled.
