The program representative at the Ventura County Regional Center will serve as a representative of Azusa Pacific University to prospective students interested in all academic programs offered at the center. This position will handle general recruiting and assist with academic planning and student service activities, as well as assisting the center director in other recruiting/retention activities.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
Required Experience
- Seven to ten years of business, recruiting, or marketing experience, preferably in a higher education institution working with adult learners.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
- Coordinates with the center director to promote all academic programs offered at the center. On average, 60% of the program representative’s time will be spent doing promotion/recruitment for APU outside the center, and 40% within the center. Specific recruitment goals will be identified by the center director.
- Coordinates with the center director to schedule, promote, prepare promotional materials, set-up room/refreshments, conduct group information meetings, and follow-up on potential students who attend these meetings. Information meetings will be held for all academic programs and will include targeting student prospects, businesses, churches, community leaders, and school administrators.
- Coordinates with the center director to ensure accuracy of recruiting information.
- Follows up with potential students on a continuous basis by phone, email and/or written correspondence. Counsels/advises prospective students in one-on-one sessions. Sends follow-up letters in a timely manner to prospective students who have not submitted their application.
- Provides administrative support for academic programs offered at the center in recruiting students as well as academic planning, and transfer advising, including unofficial transcript preliminary evaluations for all prospective students.
- Works effectively with staff and faculty, providing support for academic programs: recruiting through enrollment of students.
- Attends events for recruitment directors as scheduled by the center director.
- Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned by the director.

- Ability to lift, pull, bend, grasp, occasionally lift up to 20 lbs., reach top of four-drawer file cabinet.
- Ability to drive to off-site locations.
- Possesses a valid California driver license.
