The Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina seeks an executive-level Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to provide direction and vision for the School's comprehensive marketing and communications strategy and execution. At the direction of the Dean and as a member of the executive management team, the Chief Marketing Officer’s responsibilities encompass the full range of activities associated with marketing the school across all channels and audiences.
The successful candidate will ideally have extensive higher education experience in program development and marketing, as well as a demonstrated ability to forge effective alliances and collaboration between faculty and staff.
The Chief Marketing Officer will lead the activities of the Moore School’s marketing department and will advise and direct the marketing efforts to include operational staff activities relevant to thought leadership, academic programming and recruitment, student affairs, corporate engagement as well as advancement.
The Chief Marketing Officer will:
- Serve as architect of the Moore School’s communications and marketing strategy
- Develop strategy to drive revenue and/or reputation for all academic programs, corporate programming and faculty research.
- Provide leadership for media engagement and external communication strategy
- Develop and employ relevant analysis and metrics to demonstrate effectiveness and achieve continuous improvement
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree in relevant field desirable, bachelor's degree required plus a minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience to demonstrate past executive leadership success in settings with similar complexity and performance expectations.
