This position is based in Salisbury Maryland. Founded in 1925, Salisbury University is one of 13 institutions that compose the University System of Maryland. Salisbury University is a selective undergraduate institution within the University System of Maryland. The University is close to ocean beaches and the Chesapeake Bay and 2-3 hours from the metropolitan areas of Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Norfolk. SU has been cited nationally as one of the top ten public regional universities in the North according to the U.S. News and World Report, and has also been recognized by the Princeton Review and Kiplinger’s magazine. SU has 388 full-time faculty members serving a student population of approximately 8,600.

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Web Developer.

The candidate should be able to work well independently and as part of a team. As this position interacts and interfaces with the entire campus, excellent written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, and organizational skills are a must. The University's web sites have been developed primarily in a Microsoft network environment using such tools and software as Front Page, SharePoint Designer, Expression Web, Visual Studio, Access, MSSQL Server, and Internet Information Services (IIS).

Primary Job Duties: The Web Developer serves to enhance the University's web sites using advanced web design and programming and provides web site technical support, guidance, education, and training. This position creates user-friendly web sites and web applications, while consulting closely with campus constituencies, determining functional and technical specifications of web projects and provides analysis, design, guidance, and technical support.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree is required. At least three years of experience using advanced web design techniques (HTML/HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery), three years experience using server-side scripting (ASP/ASP.Net) and database (Access/MSSQL Server) programming techniques to build user-friendly web sites and web applications (including database-driven dynamic sites). Experience developing mobile web sites using the jQuery mobile platform is desired. Applicant must be well-versed in user interface design, web and internet standards compliance, and ADA compliance standards. Experience working in a help desk environment and experience working in higher education preferred.

This is a full-time exempt State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
