Description of Duties: The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for assisting in the planning and evaluating all aspects and facets of a volleyball program with a rich history in the NCAA. Recruit skilled and academically qualified student-athletes and monitor their academic progress. Assist in planning, organizing, conducting, and evaluating practice sessions along with development, implementation, and evaluation of game plans and strategies. Serve as leader, mentor, and role model for athletics. Prepare team schedule, develop fundraising initiatives, team travel, and administrative processes/procedures. Ensure compliance with all necessary policies and procedures. Coaching - 20% Player Evaluations - 5% Recruiting - 30% Video Break-down - 5% Game Preparation - 10% Practice Preparation - 5% Team Travel - 5% Scheduling - 5% Secondary Responsibilities - 15%
Additional Responsibilities: Assist with intercollegiate event management. Assist with the Department of Intercollegiate equipment room. Assist with supervision of weight room. Assist other intercollegiate coaches with the admissions process (15%).
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; Minimum of three years volleyball coaching experience on the high school or intercollegiate level or related field; Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; Must be a highly motivated, self-starter; have sound judgment and decision-making ability along with attention to detail; Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; Computer skills including Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree and five years of intercollegiate volleyball coaching experience.
