Essential Job Duties:
The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Education provides oversight to all undergraduate and graduate students and programs and provides leadership and commitment within a strong faculty governance system. The Associate Dean for AA collaborates with the Assistant Dean for Student Engagement and the Assistant Dean for Professional Education and Accreditation to ensure quality programs and services within the context of a cohesive student and academic affairs service model. The Associate Dean for AA serves as the ex-officio member on several college-level and university committees; provides oversight, leadership and guidance to the Office Knowledge Management and Assessment; provides oversight and guidance to the Media and Technology Resource Center; and adjudicates student misconduct and appeals. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs works closely with the Dean’s Administrative Unit to ensure continuous progress, success, leadership and visibility for the College and maintains a scholarly and student focus on academic affairs leadership. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Education is a full-time, administrative position.
Minimum Experience/Education:
PhD or equivalent and tenured faculty position or equivalent
Departmental Required Skills:
Facilitation skills, ability to work with individual, small and large groups, ability to work with parents and students and other external constituencies. Ability to conduct successful research and disseminate successful research and projects through publications and presentations.
