Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President, the Vice President of Student Affairs (VPSA) serves as the University’s senior administrator providing leadership and direction for an integrated portfolio of educational programs, student engagement and support services aimed at enhancing student development, retention and graduation.

Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President, the Vice President of Student Affairs (VPSA) serves as the University’s senior administrator providing leadership and direction for an integrated portfolio of educational programs, student engagement and support services aimed at enhancing student development, retention and graduation. The Vice President is responsible for the oversight of the following departments: Assessment and Evaluation, Campus Life (including Student Government and Activity & Service Budgets), Orientation and Commuter Student Services, Housing and Residential Life, Recreational Services, Student University Centers, University Health Services, Career Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, Center for Leadership and Service, the Women’s Center, Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, Student Media, Disability Resource Center, the Children’s Creative Learning Center, Multicultural Programs and Services, Ombudsman, Pre-Collegiate Services, and the Victim Advocacy Center. The VPSA oversees the development and successful completion of strategic and operational plans; works with the University executive team in prioritizing initiatives in accordance with the University strategic plan; evaluates operations, staff, programs, support services and activities to ensure areas are efficient and effective in achieving University goals; prepares annual budget requests and monitors approved budgets; and provides recommendations and policy formulations to the President and Provost. The VPSA oversees an annual budget of approximately $60 million.
Applicants will have an earned doctorate and a record of progressive and visionary leadership in student affairs. Successful candidates will also demonstrate leadership in planning, implementing, evaluating and advocating for a wide range of programs with a student-centered approach; experience in financial management, staff development and success in securing external funds to advance the mission of student affairs; knowledge of issues and trends in student affairs, policy development and strategic planning; effective communication and organizational skills in a dynamic university setting; and the ability to lead a team of diverse constituents and individuals to foster collaboration and engagement between the campuses and the broader community.
