Classification: Benefit Eligible
Duties: Individual will provide basic institutional research, mandatory governmental reporting, and support of the program reviews of academic and non-academic departments, grant-seeking activity, and accreditation and re-accreditation efforts by departments and by the University. Other duties will include: developing the institutional research capabilities to support assessment of learning outcomes, institutional decision-making and strategic planning; working closely with academic and administrative management to collect, compile, analyze, and present information to multiple audiences for all functions of the university; overseeing the administration and analysis of course evaluations; overseeing the administration and distribution of the results of national and internal surveys; developing and administering the office budget; and supervising and evaluating the performance of assigned staff.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics or related field. Doctoral degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three years experience in institutional research in higher education. Experience in handling large datasets. Demonstrated proficiency in survey research, design and analysis. Proficiency in institutional benchmarking and peer analysis.
Specific Skills: Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, SPSS, SQL, and PeopleSoft. Excellent written and oral communication and problem-solving skills necessary.
Specific Knowledge, Licenses, and Certifications: Experience composing complex written narratives with integrated graphical charts and tables for publication in print form and on the Web. Experience working with diverse populations preferred. Experience in grant-writing is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable): Minimum of 2 years staff supervisory experience preferred.
