The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine is recruiting tenure or non-tenure accruing positions at the level of Assistant, Associate or Professor in the Division of Acute Care Surgery (ACS) which covers Trauma, Burns, Emergency General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
Successful applicants will join the department’s full time faculty group of seven acute care surgeons providing service for a Level 1 trauma care center with special expertise in Burns and Pediatric Trauma at the 850-bed Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. The trauma center admits 2,500 trauma admissions per year (90% blunt trauma). Emergency general surgery admissions and consultations are also managed by this division. We provide Critical Care in two 24 bed newly built intensive care units that are organized to perform “state of the art” translational research.
This position offers a unique opportunity to blend both clinical and academic responsibilities. There is an exceptional opportunity for research and collaboration with the NIH/NIGMS funded burn/trauma research program within the Department of Surgery that includes a T-32 training grant. Salary is negotiable.

Minimum Requirements: Candidates must be board certified or eligible in general surgery and have completed a critical care fellowship. Fellowship training in trauma surgery or extensive experience is required. Must be eligible for a Florida Medical License.
