This position is responsible for site, program, and staff management at Camp Bob Cooper. Site responsibilities include maintenance, cleanliness, food service and other areas. Program responsibilities include adventure-based programming, field study programs, summer camps and rentals.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

1. JOB PURPOSE

This position is responsible for site, program, and staff management at Camp Bob Cooper. Site responsibilities include maintenance, cleanliness, food service and other areas. Program responsibilities include adventure-based programming, field study programs, summer camps and rentals.

2. JOB FUNCTIONS

PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
Excellent management skills and techniques to manage a staff of 10-50 people
Multitask and take care of needs with various groups onsite at a time
Responsible for all program staff with such duties as hiring, training, leading and evaluating
Assist in preparing participants for programming, which may include meeting with participants prior to arrival
Maintain upkeep of site through maintenance, cleaning, and food service E/40%

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Oversee high adventure & recreation activities including: outdoor/nature education and team building skills (high and low challenge courses), hiking, canoeing, team sports, and other activities based on each group's needs
Manage summer camp programs that include 4-H, Camp Wildlife, DSN, and other programs as needed
Compile participant evaluations and completes necessary reports for all assigned programs
Develop and execute pre-program protocol
Continue to modify and improve all programs E/40%

CUSTOMER RELATIONS
Create strong and lasting relationships with all rental partners.
Build and promote to a diverse rental market that aids in the sustainability of the site.
Follow-up stay connected to our partners. Meet/call on a regular basis to build and sustain relationships. E/15%

OTHER DUTIES
Other duties as assigned
Attend Team Meetings, Residential Meetings and site meetings as directed. E/5%

QUALIFICATIONS:

BA or BS in Parks & Recreation, Health & Wellness field, Education or a related field.
-At least 5 years of camp management experience or equivalent management experience in other fields.
Experience with management of sites/retreat center is preferred.
Excellent leadership, communications, and facilitation skills required.
Experience with children; must have the patience, understanding and flexibility.
Must demonstrate teaching skills and the ability to implement creative "hands-on" teaching methods.
Must be willing to sacrifice, adapt and work hard as part of a team pursuing an objective.
Must be physically able to perform the tasks required and the stamina to work long hours.

BENEFITS INFORMATION:

Employees who are in time limited positions will earn one and one-quarter days of Annual and Sick Leave per month for a total of thirty (30) days per year. Eligible part-timers will earn days on a pro rata basis.
