Job Summary
We are seeking an exceptional scholar and/or designer with areas of expertise to complement current program strengths. Primary teaching responsibilities will include sophomore level classes in the basic elements of the design process, manual drafting and drawing skills, and construction drawing principles/conventions in order to establish competency for sophomore portfolio review preparation. This position allows for the development of innovative teaching initiatives blending manual and technical communication skills. Additional service responsibilities as needed by the department.


Minimum Qualifications
MFA in Interior Design, M.Arch, or MS / MA in Interior Design with professional design experience; BFA / BA degree in Interior Design or a related field with extensive professional design experience and college level teaching may be considered. College level teaching experience as instructor of record, and at least three years of professional design experience required. The successful candidate must have proficiency in the following areas: manual drafting, graphic communication, ideation techniques, the design process, and presentation methods.


Preferred Qualifications
The selected candidate's proficiencies should include professional application experience with the following software: Sketch-Up, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and AutoCAD. Preference will be given to applicants credentialed through NCIDQ or NCARB, as well as those who demonstrate a willingness to take the exam.
