Position Summary:
The part-time Director of the Center for Catholic and Urban Education (CCUE) reports directly to the Director of the Educational Leadership Institute and to the Chair of the Educational Leadership Department. The Director is responsible for all functions associated with implementation of the goals of the Center.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Duties):
Provide and market a variety of forms of professional development for Catholic school personnel, including credit and noncredit programs.
Act as a liaison/consultant to the Catholic schools and school systems in identifying qualified candidates for the online MS in Educational Leadership for Catholic Leaders.
Provide professional consultation on curriculum and instruction, special education (mission schools), educational leadership and organizational development to individual Catholic schools and school systems.
Write grant proposals to obtain supplementary funding for the Center.
Provide assistance with enrollment tracking and management of courses and programs offered (tools and databases).
Provide administrative support for the SJU Roundtable discussions.
Coordinate the development of an annual lecture series.
Assist in the delivery of the annual educational leadership conference.
Collect and make available to schools research studies and other information regarding educational leadership.
Coordinate the conducting of scholarly research on educational leadership and related topics.
Minimum Qualifications (Education/Training and Experience Required):
Master’s degree with background knowledge in education, instructional technology, and educational leadership.
Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering both traditional and online courses.
Successful administrative experience with an online instructional program.
Knowledge of related Pennsylvania Department of Education standards and accountability requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate degree.
Higher education teaching experience.
