Coordinates and implements highly engaging career programs and individual career coaching and counseling tasks to assist students with job preparation, networking and job search issues. Assists students in understanding their choices for career training, researching career paths, and finding job openings; maintains liaisons with community leaders and businesses. Provides career and educational services information and/or direction to students, parents, faculty and administrators; develops and monitors program data and reports; promotes programs. Assists individuals in job application and interview preparation processes; assists the University in achieving its vision, mission and strategic plan for effective and efficient growth. Serves as liaison to students of all colleges, develops outreach opportunities; prepares career development and job search information for the SSU website and performs related tasks as required. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Master level professional with at least two years of supervised college-level career experience. Coursework and training experience in the field of counseling and career development, computer based learning, related employment and experience within higher education; intermediate knowledge of MS Office, web design, Symplicity, etc. Career Development Facilitator designation or other career sub specialty; must be able to maintain accurate records, make presentations, plan and manage projects; excellent communication and intrapersonal skills; with ability to work well with a diverse population and have a flexible schedule.
