#3249 – Director of Leadership Annual Giving - University Advancement
The University of La Verne welcomes applicants for the position of Director of Leadership Annual Giving in the University Advancement Department. Reporting directly to the Deputy Vice President for University Advancement, the Director of Leadership Annual Giving is primarily responsible for personal annual solicitation of current and potential leadership donors from $1,000 - $10,000 annually. The Leadership Giving director supervises the Associate Director of Annual Giving who is responsible for managing and overseeing annual giving programs including direct mail, phonathon, e-solicitation, website development, e-communication, annual honor roll of donors.
Specific duties of the position include personally contacting and soliciting 200 - 300+ prospective annual giving leadership donors at the $1,000 - $10,000 level; supervising the Associate Director of Annual Giving and providing oversight to the direct mail, phonathon, e-solicitation, Spotted Pig, Trustee, graduating student, faculty/staff and LVAA annual giving campaigns; collaborating with Major Gifts Officers to identify, cultivate and solicit donors to the Annual President’s Dinner Gala; collaborating with Alumni Relations and attending alumni special events on the La Verne campus and 10 regional campuses; collaborating with University Advancement and Advancement Services staff to prepare reports, attend staff meetings, submit contract reports, improve donor and prospective bio data; providing oversight for the creation and production of annual giving materials for the annual honor roll of donors, VOICE Ads, e-solicitation/videos, website development and brochures; identifying potential major gift donors and planned giving donors and share information with appropriate University Advancement staff.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree with proven fundraising experience. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three (3) years of successful direct fundraising as well as three (3) years of fundraising management experience. This position requires incumbent to be out of the office the majority of the time establishing strong relationships and soliciting annual giving donors; requires evening, weekend and domestic travel primarily within California. Candidates must possess a valid California Drivers license, have reliable transportation and be insured. Employment is contingent upon passing a complete background investigation including a DMV report.
The hiring range for this position is dependent upon qualifications and departmental equity.
