Located in central Minnesota, College of Saint Benedict, for women, and Saint John's University, for men, are nationally recognized Catholic liberal arts colleges and ranked as two of the top three Catholic colleges in the nation. The Department of Dining Services for Saint John's University, invites applications for the full time position of Culinary Manager/Chef. Under the administrative supervision of the Executive Director of Dining Service and Events, the primary functions of this position are: key leader for the food and beverage service of the Dining Service and Events area; develops menu concepts, coordinates menu planning, oversees food preparation and presentation; provides administrative supervision, coaches and develops full time staff and student staff; general duties as a part of the management team; acts as a public relations person for customers.

As a key leader for the food and beverage service of the Dining Service and Events area, this position is responsible for the leadership and food production of a college dining center with an annual budget in excess of $7 million. Management area includes all student dining areas, monastery, and catering within the St. John's Community.

Post-secondary education in the culinary field with significant related work experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum of five years progressive food production experience in a high volume restaurant, college or commercial foodservice operation which has a full service menu and catering services.

Comprehensive knowledge of culinary techniques, recipe and menu development, food production in operations, and strong supervision and leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and customer base.

American Culinary Federation Certified and ServSafe certification are desirable.

Bachelor's degree preferred.
