Located in central Minnesota, College of Saint Benedict, for women, and Saint John's University, for men, are nationally recognized Catholic liberal arts colleges and ranked as two of the top three Catholic colleges in the nation. They share one academic program, and students attend classes together on both campuses. This integrated learning experience combines a challenging academic program with extensive opportunities for international study, leadership, service learning, spiritual growth and cultural and athletic involvement. The combined enrollment of more than 3,800 students makes CSB and SJU the largest of the nation's liberal arts colleges. The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University, are located four miles apart in Central Minnesota just outside metropolitan St. Cloud and 70 miles from Minneapolis. The Department of History of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invites applications for a one-year position in Latin American and US history to begin in August 2013. PhD and teaching experience preferred.

Teaching assignments will include introductory courses on Latin America and the US and upper-division courses in Mexican history; upper-division courses in 20th-century US history are also welcome.

Applicants will complete a faculty application form and attach a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, evidence of teaching effectiveness and an unofficial transcripts, (official transcript required for on campus interview).

You will also be required to submit at minimum 3 letters of reference. On the reference screen, you will be asked to list 3 names and email address. If you use a placement service, you will need to contact them to request the email address to list. The system will then automatically send an email to your letter writer or placement service requesting a letter of reference for you.
