Full-time tenure track assistant professor of criminal justice in the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice to begin in August 2013.
Teach courses in the areas of criminal law, criminal procedure and evidence, and criminal prosecution. In addition, the successful candidate may be expected to teach one or more of the following courses: Introduction to Criminal Justice, Seminar in Criminal Justice (a capstone course), Criminal Justice Ethics, or Research Methods. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop and/or teach additional courses in his or her area of expertise. Faculty members are expected to perform other teaching, scholarly, and service duties in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or a related academic field, or a Juris Doctorate plus significant professional experience. ABD candidates close to completion will be considered. Prior teaching experience, a viable research agenda, and professional experience related to the subject matter to be taught are all highly desirable.
