Job Description Summary:
Minimum Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and 2 years of relevant experience. Degree requirements may be substituted for an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in a business development, sales, recruitment, marketing, or a university employer relations background desired. Experience in target industry area preferred based on outreach focus of the EDC role. Ability to manage multiple tasks/priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Highly motivated, demonstrates initiative, and possesses the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a broad range of internal and external constituents. Familiarity with SalesForce or similar contact management software preferred.

Job Duties

  • Data Management
    Collect and report all necessary statistics related to employer outreach efforts in industry area for monthly review by supervisor
    Conduct industry research and develop target lists for outreach efforts; Keep all data related to employer targets up to date
    Support FDFCC and/or GWSB employer efforts with any appropriate information related to existing employer relationships (e.g., historical activity, contacts, etc.)
    Maintain a thorough and accurate Contact Relationship Management system showing evolution of the relationship for each assigned employer and strategies for enhancing/maintaining the relationship

  • Employer Outreach/Relationship Development
    Strategically identify and develop a target list of employers appropriate for the education, degree levels and career interest of GWSB students. Aggressively build relationships with state, regional, national, and international employers for ultimate recruitment of GWSB students and alumni
    Sell the GW & GWSB brand to prospective employers (through meetings/presentations) with an overview of the University, the strengths of the students in each degree program including majors and knowledge domains; convincing employers of the value GWSB students would bring to their organization as compared to students from other business schools.
    Accelerate the job search process for GWSB students through proactive search for appropriate opportunities by creating and strengthening relationships with current and prospective recruiters and other hiring sources. Creating meetings between senior level employer leadership and senior level GWSB leadership.
    Work to elevate employer accounts to successive levels of recruiting activity (e.g., job listings, interviews, fairs, serving on Corporate Collaborative Council, etc.)
    Engage existing and new employer accounts for school-specific events sponsored by Career Center, Deans, Program Offices, Student organizations, etc.
    Develop a recruitment strategy for each employer by working with external and internal parties including executives, hiring managers, recruiters, faculty, and staff
    Institutionalize employer relationships by maintaining appropriate records, files, and accounts to track the status of employer outreach to ensure accountability and transparency
    Educate and update graduate and undergraduate career consultants, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the Associate Director, Employer Relations staff on economic, industry and job market trends.
