Job Description Summary:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, or higher degree, in an appropriate area of specialization and a minimum of eight years of relevant experience. Degree requirements may be substituted for an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Desired Qualifications:
A significant record of highly-respected scholarly publications is strongly desirable. Applicants should be visionary, with strong leadership, teaching, mentoring and administrative talents. Prior experience in leading multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary initiatives focused on complex problems is highly desirable, as it will guide GWs cross-cutting innovations in undergraduate and graduate sustainability education.
A proven record of institutional development, a background in public policy work, and international experience with sustainability issues is desired.

Job Duties

Guides the development of GWs university-wide sustainability initiative with the goal of building a premier university program on policy and governance for sustainable systems.

Leads the research, curricular, outreach, and operational components of the universitys sustainability initiative.

Works closely with the University President to attract leading faculty from a variety of disciplines to advance the universitys sustainability mission.

Collaborates with faculty and staff with sustainability expertise in developing academic programs and advancing grant-supported sustainability research.

Coordinates with GWs Office of Sustainability, to expand GWs successful sustainability outreach and practice initiatives.

Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
