The Library at St. Ambrose University seeks a creative and service-oriented cataloger librarian. Responsibilities include performing original and copy cataloging of Library materials, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of bibliographic records, providing collection development of leisure reading materials, compiling statistics, working at the Reference Desk a minimum of two hours/week, and serving as resource person and trainer for paraprofessional staff. This position is a full-time, year-round position.
Requirements: Masters of Library Science degree from ALA-accredited library school; a commitment to a high level of service in an academic environment; a working knowledge of Library of Congress classification system; must meet library consortium certification standards; excellent oral, written, and organizational skills; enthusiasm and a sense of humor; and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of rapid change.
