University of Maryland in Baltimore is currently seeking a HVAC Off-Shift Plant Engineer Supervisor (Coordinator) to work within the Department of Facilities Management/Operations & Maintenance/HVAC. The selected candidate will work under limited supervision, coordinates and oversees all off-shift personnel in the operation and monitoring of Campus equipment and systems.
**This is a OFF-SHIFT position (night shift, weekends, and/or second shift)**
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for day to day off-shift activities to include proper response to equipment failures and emergencies
Develops schedules to ensure appropriate off-shift coverage
Provides leadership and works with staff to ensure a high performing, customer oriented work environment
Serves as a working supervisor when necessary to meet the needs of the situation.
Inspects equipment for safe and proper operation.
Ensures adequate supplies and equipment are maintained for the area.
Participates in development, implementation, and evaluation of work processes, systems, and procedure to achieve goals, objectives, and work standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
2 years of experience working in an appropriate field
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Comprehensive knowledge of Siemens Apogee and Johnson Metasys BAS.
Skill in continuously seeking to improve the quality of services and processes.
Ability to diagnose and solve HVAC system problems.
Skills in leadership, coaching and team building to strengthen and cultivate relationships.
Skill in communicating efficiently and effectively both orally and in writing with a variety of people internal and external to the organization.
