Description
The Financial Aid Data Processing Associate is responsible for transferring data files to and from various agencies over the internet, processing data in the PeopleSoft system and communicating outcomes with team members and other APU staff. The role includes administrative coordination of archived data and stored data.
Examples of Duties
- Uploads and processes COD/CPS Files
- Downloads response files from COD
- Backs-up the processing of Direct Loans
- Processes Alternative Loans
- Coordinates all mass packaging and repackaging processes for undergraduate students
- Runs all 3C Processes (Service Indicators, Communications, Checklists)
- Generates offer letters
- Processes award authorizations and disbursements
- Processes ISIRs
- Grant processing (Pell, Chafee, Cal Grant)
- Sends notifications to FAOs and the Business Office
- Manages archiving of folders/files in department network share drives
- Maintains the data processing calendar
- Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Education
BA degree in related field (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
Experience
3-5 years of experience with data entry and data processing tasks. Experience with web-based file transfers and online data processing
Skills
Ability to work successfully in a team environment and possess the flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements is required. Ability to maintain harmonious work relationships with staff, students, faculty and University officials and the general public. Experience with PeopleSoft in a higher education environment preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel. Proficient with the use of MS Office products. Proficient with the use of internet tools such as web browsers and FTP clients.
Mental Demands
Able to work with little supervision. Ability to plan details of procedures and methods to obtain definite objectives. Ability to understand written and verbal instructions. Able to understand document procedure. Ability to exercise independent judgment; use discretion in making decisions along with logical problem solving. Ability to maintain accuracy during periods of high stress. In agreement with the purpose and goals of Azusa Pacific University in providing a Christian-based higher education for its students.
Physical Demands
Intermittent sitting and standing. Substantial repetitive motions with wrist, hand and/or fingers. Talking and hearing demands. Able to conduct business at various offices on campus. Able to lift, pull grasp, bend to lower file drawer and reach to top of 5-drawer file cabinet. Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
Visual Demands
Extensive use of the computer monitor, reading.
Environment
Pleasant but busy office, comfortable temperature.
