SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome (SUNYIT) is accepting applications for the position of Vice President for Administration. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President serves as the chief financial and administrative officer for SUNYIT.
SUNYIT is an undergraduate and graduate college specializing in technology and professional studies; recently launched programs include biology, civil engineering, and network & computer security. The SUNYIT campus is undergoing $100 million in improvements, including a technology complex that will house nanotechnology industry tenants and a state-of-the-art clean room.
The Vice President is responsible for overall administration and management of business and financial affairs and directly supervises the offices of business affairs, facilities management, human resources, conference services, and university police. This position also oversees the operations of the campus auxiliary services corporation. The successful candidate will possess strong decision-making abilities, analytical skills, strategic planning skills, resource management skills, and employee relations experience; will have an understanding of and appreciation for a unionized/collective bargaining environment; will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, and will possess exceptional overall leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Qualifications: The successful candidate should have a master's degree from a regionally accredited university or an equivalent professional degree/credential. A minimum of eight years of progressively responsible administrative and management experience is preferred. The candidate will also have at least five years of experience at the senior management level (department head or above) in at least one of the functional areas listed above, preferably within public higher education.
