General Summary of Position: The Robert J. Manning School of Business (MSB) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking a new tenure-track Assistant Professor OR a non-tenure-track Lecturer (NTT) in the field of Entrepreneurship/Innovation. The tenure-track position involves teaching, research and service. The non-tenure track position involves teaching and service. Currently, the curriculum includes starting new ventures, corporate entrepreneurship and managing innovation. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to actively participate in the direction and development of additional electives in this growing program.
The MSB is building faculty capacity to deepen its research productivity and build program offerings at all degree levels. For the tenure-track position, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in (1) the development of new academic programs such as our new Ph.D. program with a specialization in Technology Management, (2) the growth of our Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship, and (4) the ongoing development of the department and School. Tenure-track and tenured faculty members regularly earn teaching load reductions for the publication of high quality research. The teaching load for research productive faculty members can be as low as 2/2 per academic year. Ample opportunities are available to become involved in mission-related research and instructional activities and develop productive partnerships with other units of the University, industry and with colleagues from other institutions and countries.
The NTT position is a full-time benefited renewable position with the possibility of promotion to the rank of Senior Lecturer. Teaching assignments will include courses taught during the day, in the evening and possibly off-site. The service component of the position includes participation in periodic course reviews, ongoing course development, assessment of student learning, student recruiting, advising, student retention activities and other service-related responsibilities as needed.
The MSB has over 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students and is accredited by the AACSB-International. The mission of the Manning School of Business is to deliver exceptional teaching, learning and research experiences in our Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. programs that prepare our graduates for the competitive global business environment. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications for the Tenure-track Position (Required):
- Completed Doctorate with an emphasis on Entrepreneurship/Innovation from an AACSB-accredited business school (must have completed Doctorate by the September 2013 date of appointment).

A Doctorate in Engineering from an ABET-accredited school with a Master's degree in Business and entrepreneurial work experience (must have completed Master's & Doctorate by the September 2013 date of appointment).
- Evidence of ongoing peer-reviewed publications in Entrepreneurship/Innovation
- The ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
Minimum Required Qualifications for the Non-tenure Track Lecturer Position (Required):
- Completed doctorate in Entrepreneurship/Innovation from an AACSB-International accredited business school (must have completed doctorate by the September 2013 date of appointment)
- OR-
Doctorate in Engineering from an ABET-accredited school with a Master's degree in Business and entrepreneurial work experience (must have completed doctorate and Master's by the September 2013 date of appointment).
Applicants holding a doctorate in other disciplines who have significant entrepreneurial work experience will also be considered. (The doctorate must be completed by the September 2013 date of appointment.)
