Job Description:

The Admissions Counselor will effectively represent the University to prospective students to achieve assigned enrollment objectives for an assigned territory. This position is responsible for building ongoing professional and institutional relationships with prospective students and those who influence their college selection decision. The Admissions Counselor must use “best practice” recruiting methods and approved marketing messages. This position will provide office-wide leadership with assigned professional expertise projects & follow the lead of other territory managers on projects assigned to them by the Director of Admissions in conjunction with the V.P for Enrollment Management.  The Admissions Counselor will evaluate and document applications/recruiting methods for admission from the assigned territory using professional judgment & data to matriculate students who are capable of graduation from the College.

Requirements:

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and a familiarity with principles of marketing, whether through direct experience or coursework. Priority will be given to candidates with one or more years of experience in admissions, marketing or sales. Candidates must have the ability to effectively and enthusiastically represent the mission of the university, including the key aspects/benefits of a private, liberal arts, and residential college education. Candidates must also have the ability and desire to effectively and credibly interact with parents, college bound high school students, university faculty, university administrators, and faculty and staff of high schools. Qualified candidates will be organized, accurate, detail oriented, and extremely timely and engaging in customer service and sales situations. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a member of the admissions. Excellent PC skills are essential. Candidates must have a good driving record and valid driver’s license.  Candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends, campus visit programs, and be able to travel possibly up to 8 or more weeks per year depending on the needs of the territory.
