Job Description:
The Admissions Counselor, Transfer Students will effectively represent the University to prospective transfer and adult students to achieve enrollment goals. This position will recruit new transfer students through recruitment events, walk-in candidates, community based programs, organizations and, business and community college outreach. The Admissions Counselor will effectively represent the university to prospective students and all external publics in interviews, information sessions, special projects and events. This position will need to attend and assist in planning and promoting on and off campus recruitment events and interact with the admissions counselor team to achieve the objectives of the office. The Admissions Counselor will evaluate and document applications/recruiting methods for admission from the assigned territory using professional judgment & data to matriculate students who are capable of graduation from the College.
Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and working experience with transfer students. Experience in a higher education position with student contact is preferred. Candidates must have the ability to effectively and enthusiastically represent the mission of the university, including the key aspects/benefits of a private, liberal arts education. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a member of the admissions team. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and Outlook, and have the ability to learn database management. Candidates must have a good driving record and valid driver’s license. Candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends, campus visit programs, and be able to travel locally.
