DEPARTMENT OF TEACHER EDUCATION
Position: GENERALIST CLINICAL FACULTY/PROFESSIONAL LICENSED POSITION, Continuing non-tenure-track.
Responsibilities: Work with teachers and principals in Miami University Partner schools and teach general teacher education courses related to background and experience. This might include teaching introduction to education courses; classroom management; method courses; supervising of field-based program experiences; advising undergraduate students; providing service to the university, schools and the profession.
Required Qualifications: Earned Masters or Doctorate in some area of teacher education with an emphasis in middle school or secondary education. A minimum of 5 years of effective teaching experience and background in working with diverse student populations in grades 4-12.
Desired Qualifications: (a) use of technology in teaching and experience with online teaching, (b) inclusionary experience teaching in culturally, linguistically diverse, urban, or international settings, (c) scholarly productivity in middle school or secondary education, (d) participation and membership in related state and national professional organizations, (e) experience with school-university partnerships, (f) the ability to contribute to existing strengths and initiatives, such as preparing teachers to work with English Language Learners or students with special learning needs, (g) international/multicultural experience/focus.

The Department of Teacher Education: The Department of Teacher Education is an intellectually diverse department working in a technologically enhanced setting.
