The College of Education positions all have the following key responsibilities:
Faculty members serve as academic advisors to students; assist in the recruitment and retention of a diverse student population; teach on average six courses per year via traditional, online, distance learning, and at outreach centers; engage in scholarly activity through publication and presentation of original research and submit grant and contract proposals; participate in unit governance and demonstrate leadership skills through service activities as members of departmental, college, university, and professional local, state, and national committees.
Special Education full-time tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor
Primary Purpose: Teach undergraduate and graduate special education courses in the BS/BA Human Exceptionality program, and the Master of Education in Human Exceptionality program.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate in special education or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution, publication record or evidence of potential for scholarship, research, and grants/contracts, P-12 teaching experience with students with disabilities, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to excellence in special education personnel preparation. ABD will be considered with identified completion date.
Educational Foundations full-time tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor (Technology)
Primary Purpose: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the teacher education program, which would include teacher education core courses and in particular the area of technology.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate from an accredited institution, publication record or evidence of potential for scholarship, research, and grants/contracts, P-12 teaching experience and strong interpersonal skills. A commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of student research, evidence of an emerging research agenda, and record of or potential for grants/contracts. ABD will be considered with identified completion date.
Educational Foundations full-time tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor (Twin Falls)
Primary Purpose: Teach undergraduate courses in the teacher education program in the College of Education (Twin Falls campus) and when needed, teach graduate courses in education.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate from an accredited institution, publication record or evidence of potential for scholarship, research, and grants/contracts, P-12 teaching experience and strong interpersonal skills. A commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of student research, evidence of an emerging research agenda, and record of or potential for grants/contracts. ABD will be considered with identified completion date.
Educational Foundations full-time tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor
Primary Purpose: Teach graduate ‘core’ courses in the Master of Education program. Also teaching involves undergraduate courses in the BS/BA Elementary/Secondary Education program.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Educational Psychology or other domain of Education with clear expertise in teaching and applying statistical methods of data analysis; commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring student research, evidence of an emerging research agenda, and record of or potential for grants/contracts. ABD will be considered with identified completion date.
School Psychology full-time tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor
Primary Purpose: Teach Master’s and Educational Specialist courses in intellectual and educational assessment, diagnosis and evaluation of learning difficulties, and supervision of students during their practicum experiences, and/or other courses required by the Program.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, from an APA- accredited or NASP-approved program in school psychology. The candidate will possess, or be eligible for, NCSP status. Publication record or evidence of potential for scholarship, research and grants/contracts required. ABD will be considered with identified completion date.
Sport Science and Physical Education full-time tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor
Primary Purpose: Teach undergraduate and graduate classes in both sport science and physical education with expertise in the area of exercise science.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related field required. Evidence of professional preparation and effective instruction in multidisciplinary approaches including exercise physiology and other exercise science areas. Ability to assist the SSPE department in curricular development and general departmental course delivery in the areas of exercise physiology and other sport science and physical education related areas. Publication record or evidence of potential for scholarship, research and grants/contracts required. ABD considered with identified completion date.
