Under the supervision of the Central Plant Supervisors, the Steam Operating Engineer will
be responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all Central Plant and campus building equipment. The Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the operation, maintenance, and cleaning of the combustion turbine generator; steam turbine generator; heat recovery system; AQMD emissions reduction systems; gas compressor; related electrical equipment and systems; high pressure, multi-fuel boilers; both steam and electric chillers; cooling tower; air compressors; water softeners; high temperature hot water generators; air dryer systems; vacuum systems; emergency generators; all auxiliary equipment and any other equipment under the jurisdiction of the Steam Operating Engineer. Maintain accurate records of equipment operation and maintenance on log sheets and logbooks. Maintain accurate records of time and materials used for equipment repairs and maintenance. Provide emergency services, excellent customer communications and services to the campus community.
Salary: Annual $62,496
Work Schedule: 12 hr shifts day/night.

Must possess a valid California Driver License.
Must possess city of Los Angeles Steam Operating Engineers License (unlimited) with turbine endorsement.
Must possess EPA refrigerant handling Certification.
Must be available for on-call assignments or alternate work schedule.
Must be willing to work weekends.
