The Chair/Director will be responsible for all aspects of planning, coordination and assessment of the Institute for Women’s Studies and Services, including faculty and staff supervision, student advising, scholarly activities, University service, community outreach, academic and student affairs programming, and any additional duties assigned by the Dean.
The candidate will teach six credit hours per semester, provide curricular and administrative leadership, and contribute to the teaching mission of the Department. The Chair/Director will be responsible for all aspects of planning, coordination and assessment of the Institute for Women’s Studies and Services, including faculty and staff supervision, student advising, scholarly activities, University service, community outreach, academic and student affairs programming, and any additional duties assigned by the Dean. The Department Chair will represent the Department to the administrative officers of the School, University, and the community. The candidate will build a vital presence for feminist scholarship, collaborating with other departments to build an intellectual community which supports anti-oppression and social justice work on and off campus.
