The Department of Urology at the University of Florida, College of Medicine is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time ARNP/PA. The ARNP/PA will provide highly specialized support to the physicians in the Department of Urology clinic. The incumbent will assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient care management for Urology patients.
1. The incumbent will participate in patient rounds, contributing to decisions for daily care, writing orders as well as interacting with consultants, coordination of diagnostic, therapeutic and referral services. Collaborate with clinical staff such as nurses, patient care coordinators to assure coverage of all patient care needs, this includes assuring that patients emotional, educational support needs are addressed and the appropriate clinical and educational information is communicated. He/she will be expected to handle a wide variety of urological problems as dictated by the urology patient population.
2.The incumbent will see patients in the outpatient clinic as assigned by the faculty physicians, this will include performing history and physical exams, developing patient care plans, providing pre-operative and post-operative counseling for patients and families, dictating patient care notes and letters.
3. Serve as a liaison betweeen internal/referring physicians, other members of the care team and to patients. Perform and assist with procedures as assigned by the faculty physician, this may include catheter placement, urethal dilation, cystocopy, suprapubic catheter insertion, stent removal, uroradiological procedures, urodynamic studies (including interpretation) and other procedures deemed appropriate by the faculty physician. Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to improve clinic effectiveness, efficiency and quality.
Minimum Requirements: Certification as an advanced registered nurse practitioner in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes.
