The City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) District 508, is the largest community college system in Illinois and one of the largest in the nation, with 5,800 faculty and staff serving 120,000 students at seven campuses and thirteen satellite sites city-wide. The City Colleges of Chicago is currently in the midst of a collaborative effort to review and revise CCC programs and practices to ensure students leave CCC college-ready, career-ready and prepared to pursue their life’s goals.

CCC includes seven colleges: Richard J. Daley College, Kennedy-King College, Malcolm X College, Olive-Harvey College, Harry S Truman College, Harold Washington College and Wilbur Wright College. The system also oversees: the Washburne Culinary Institute, the French Pastry School, two restaurants, five Child Development Centers, the Center for Distance learning, the Workforce Institute, the public broadcast station WYCC-TV Channel 20 and radio station WKKC-FM 89.3FM.

Duties
Provides consultative hands-on functional, reporting and basic technical support for PeopleSoft HCM users. Analyzes business requirements and identifies system solutions to meet those requirements. HRIS Analyst provides leadership in the design and implementation of the Human Resources (HR) Information System. The position requires seasoned systems knowledge and generalist knowledge of Human Resources procedures.

Provides troubleshooting and issue resolution for PeopleSoft HCM users.

Assists in evaluating, analyzing, designing and maintaining the PeopleSoft HRMS system.

Responds to customer requests for system data.

Develops test plans to ensure reliable project implementation and conducts system testing as process improvements are introduced.

Leads the testing and implementation of routine tax updates to the HRIS system.

Provides leadership and oversees employee information collection, analysis and reporting, while enforcing data integrity policies.

Audits system capabilities for accuracy, integrity, and functionality by performing system testing, monitoring and documenting test results, analyzing test results and documenting system discrepancies; ensure adherence to HR laws and CCC HR policies and practices.

Participates in project planning and administration, including issue tracking, project roll- out, communications and end-user training.

Continuously researches new system functionality; evaluates current HRIS system and identifies areas of improvement.

Develops system specifications for projects to meet new business requirements.

Partners with HR personnel to define information needs and sources.

Advises HR personnel on design and utilization of information systems.

Performs other duties as assigned.

All CCC employees are required to adhere to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Information Systems or a related field preferred, supplemented by 2–5 years of increasingly responsible HRIS experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must possess demonstrated functional and technical expertise in PeopleSoft HCM version 9.0 and above.

Knowledge of payroll, benefit and HR practices and procedures.

Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to think analytically

Must be able to work well with employees at all levels of the organization. Must be able to handle all situations with tact, persuasiveness, and diplomacy.

Must be proactive, organized, independent and able to complete tasks in a timely manner in order to meet deadlines.
