The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Adolescent Medicine has an opening for a 0.6 FTE faculty position open at the rank of instructor for a Nurse Practitioner (NP). This is a clinical position. The NP will be a key member in a newly expanded family planning program serving adolescents and young adults. This clinical position will function from the Children's Hospital Colorado Outpatient Clinics in Colorado Springs. The candidate will be expected to provide independent direct clinical services for patients seen in the Adolescent Family Planning Program. Providing health services to adolescents can be complex because of the issues of confidentiality, compliance and follow-up. Experience with and relating to this age group is critical.

Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will be expected to provide independent direct clinical services for patients seen in the Adolescent Family Planning Clinic in Colorado Springs. There will be particular emphasis on reproductive health, birth control counseling, method selection and management, STD prevention and screening. Specific duties include detailed patient history, assessment and treatment, as well as patient education and some care coordination. Job may include some community outreach. This position is a 60% clinical position.
Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications): Licensed Nurse Practitioner with national certification and prescriptive authority.
Desired Qualifications: Experience in women's health, experience with adolescents, and experience with young adults.
