Duties and Responsibilities: Loyola University Chicago (LUC), College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures invites candidates to apply for a full-time, 3-year, non-tenure-track position at the rank of Instructor, Chinese Languages and Literatures. Beginning August 2013, this position offers the possibility of renewal and opportunities for promotion. The department serves 134 majors and 496 minors and has an M.A. graduate program in Spanish. The current position involves teaching Chinese language courses from 101-251 (beginning to intermediate level) as well as coordinating the different sections of these courses. Candidates for the position must clearly demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching and student mentorship. Experience working in the specialty area of language pedagogy and modern Chinese literature or culture is desirable.
Minimum Qualifications: The successful applicant will have a Master's Degree in Chinese Language and Literature (Ph.D. preferred) and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
