Director, Continuing Education & Travel
Dartmouth College is seeking a creative and energetic individual to join its Alumni Relations team in the role of Director of Continuing Education & Travel. A member of the Ivy League, Dartmouth has an engaged and committed alumni body with over 70,000 active members world-wide.
The Director will provide program leadership for the development and implementation of educational events designed to cultivate life-long alumni involvement and participation with the College. The successful candidate will both work with established, successful programs and create new programming unique to Dartmouth.
Collaborating with staff, faculty and vendors, the Director will plan and implement on-campus and regional alumni academic programs and events, online educational opportunities and the Dartmouth Travel programs. The Director will partner with regional clubs to fulfill alumni club requests for speakers and to help plan club seminars. In addition, the Director will oversee financial and marketing responsibilities for the Continuing Education & Travel program including developing and managing budgets, establishing pricing policies, setting fiscal goals, allocating resources and tracking progress. All members of the Alumni Relations team work on a variety of programs to enhance alumni connections and to strengthen the bond between alumni and the College.
The successful candidate will bring at least five years of experience leading or coordinating an educational or corporate travel program and/or relevant experience in higher education program development. Experience with online content delivery; pricing, marketing, and budgeting; management of revenue-generating programs; and oversight of communications is critical. Demonstrated staff management experience is essential. The Director must have the ability to organize, think strategically, demonstrate initiative and thrive on a challenge to be the best in class. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to command the respect of senior officers of the College, faculty, colleagues, alumni, etc. Willingness to travel is a must. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a master's degree is preferred.
